How did you get involved in Toastmasters?

How did you get involved in Toastmasters?

Initially it was an accident/ misunderstanding I had about Toastmasters that prompted me attend a Toastmasters meeting. I thought it was a English language learning program. After I knew what it is really about I was going to leave the program. My Toastmasters mentor Pam encouraged and supported me to stay to learn how to communicate effectively and efficiently which does not require English as the first language that I know of. Then I stayed for 20 years!

What are your present goals for Toastmasters?

I want to give back to my toastmasters club since I have learned and been benefited so much from Toastmasters. Our club and Toastmasters as whole have been thru a tough time since the start of the Covid pandemic.

  1. Improving our club meeting experience
  2. Helping to bring in 2-3 new members
  3. Complete Level 3 of Pathway – Visionary path

Tell us a bit about yourself. What do you do, for instance?

I am a wife, a mother, a teacher and an author, and a long time Toastmaster member. Apparently, I wear quite a few ‘hats’. But my kids know Toastmasters is their mom’s identity. I published the very first book The Peach Garden Oath, Book one for the Three Kingdoms in 300 Characters book series in 2019. I would not be able to publish a book without support and help from my toastmaster members.

Do you have any websites or social media channels?

Yes, I have a website for my book series Three Kingdoms:

I also have Facebook( and Instagram.

What is your educational background?

I have a BA degree and a MBA degree

Is there anything else about you that you’d like others to know?

We recently moved from suburb to City of Chicago, living in a high-rise condominium, a shared living space! Learning a lot of new things…

I really hope I can publish next 3 books from my book series Three Kingdoms within one year
